[or-roots] Thanks for info on B & B Complex fires

MessageI got some information from the Sisters online newspaper.  I just did a GOOGLE search for:   B&B complex fire Oregon 2003.  Some of our children live east of Sisters and the children go to school in Sisters.  School is scheduled to begin on the 15, but the delay was because of the construction of a new high school, not the fires.  We endured the Winter fire last year.  Our hearts go out to those who are suffering with this holocaust.  Not fun.  Just plain horrid.  Moving in a rush is not nice.  

However I did learn a lot by this.  Always have your photographs in one location.    Have a 72 hour kit.   Have drinkable water in storage.  Keep you gas tank full.  All but having the photographs in one close area was something I did anyway.  Do not panic.  

Take only your computer stack and disks/CD's.  When you leave shut every door inside the house.  Pull every curtain and shade closed.  Listen to the people who fight structure fires.  They are good and know how to prevent further disaster to your home and buildings.  We had several teams of them here at our ranch.  Good people.
