There were two Powell families in the Scio area in the 1800's.
Providence Cemetery has burials of each family.
I am descended from Eld. Joab Powell, the early Circuit rider.
His ancestors came to America about 1685.
In late 1700's they moved to Tennessee from Penn. They were Quakers.
Elder Joab was born 1799, married Ann Beeler in 1817.
In 1852 they gathered all their family and some frienda and started for
Oregon. They settled near Scio, Oregon. John and Jane Powell Beeler
and most of their children came with them and settled in Linn Co.
Does this sound like your Beelers?
