My mother had a roll of isenglass and she replaced windows in those snap-on
window covers of the Model T, using her Franklin treadle sewing machine.
Wintertime meant lots of blankets and a foot warmer containing a heated
brick. Everyone was expert at patching tires. I still remember the smell
of a "hot patch".----Mary
