[or-roots] Portland plane crash - my bad?

Okay, I didn't check his address against my memory of the location, since I
only know major street names and places I have or have had family.

Now it is possible he was referring to the earlier UAL crash I mentioned, I
was concentrating on the one I remembered and didn't really look for more on
that one.

Enlighten us; do you know any more about the crash; small plane or airliner?
I think if you are looking for info on a small plane crash I probably can't
find it and can guarantee I don't remember it.

Of course as I believe I mentioned, the main reason I remember this one is
my twin . . .  er nephew was living about ten blocks away.

The plane that crashed in 1978 was not anywhere near Bybee Street and 68th.
The crash in 1978 was out SE further about 168th and Stark prox.  I was only
a few blocks away when it came down and remember it well.
SE 68th and Bybee is in the Sellwood / Woodstock area, much further West and
South of the 1978 crash site.
Gene must be referring to a different crash site.
