[or-roots] The chair

I don't remember the year, but it had to be before 1948. Why? Because we lived in the Shea house at Foster at the time. My father sold that house in 1948, and it was torn down days later.

We were on our way home, between Lebanon and Sweet Home, on HWY 20. All of a sudden there was a chair on the road in front of our car (a blue 1936 Ford). My dad was able to stop without hitting the chair. As I rercall, we had seen neighboors to the east of us on HWY 20 (now under Foster Lake), driving home with "furnature" tied to the top of their car. This chair was part of that load.

We took the chair home (how I don't remember), and an hour or so later the man who owned it came to our house to claim it.

Something like this could not happen today. But, did it happen to you? Was this your chair?
