  I'd start with the 1930 Ashland census. If you have a last name, sex, and age, you might just get in the ball park.

    My grandfather was born in Ashland, OR in 1936 and adopted.  I live in California and was wondering how or where on the web I could find information on his birth parents or family.  The only information I have past his birth date is a possible surname of his mother and her age.  Where should I look?
