Okay;
I didn't make the connection with William, there is quite a bit of info on
him on line also, and I think actually more sites with info about him in
other people's genealogy; what I did was a google search, first I searched
for Oregon, and then McCubbins and finally Marion County. That narrowed it
down to 60 hits, of which probably 40 were relevant to the name McCubbins
and maybe twenty actually about your guy or William. If you haven't googled
these folks, you might try that tack and just move among counties. I was
assuming the Wasco county folks were no relation, but if they are then there
is a lot of McCubbin stuff in Oregon. I don't know if you noticed or not,
but one variation Marsha (I think) had was M'cCubbin, which will throw a
search engine off.
I was real embarrassed to discover half way through that I had done the same
search for you in June and totally forgotten it. But then I think i have
mentioned before my memory isn't the best. ;-}

PS. I am pretty sure at least some of the Leabo folks are still around,
ironically I spent some time going through my memorabilia box this weekend
and one of the things I ran across was my 9th grade report card from Sue
Leabo's science class. (her married name, her husband was Guy and nobody on
the list has ever claimed him)
I hadn't spent so much time in that box in years, it only made me cry once,
when I was reading the letter my Mom wrote to me two days before she died,
that my dad found and sent to me 5 weeks later. I still have a hard time
with that, because she was hurrying through the mud to mail it to me when
whe burst her heart, and I will always think that if I hadn't been overseas
she might have lasted longer, maybe even a bunch since her oldest Sister who
had had heart trouble since 1945 lasted until almost the turn of the
century.

Thanks Leslie,
Yes, I've been over and over the the Leabo family information every where
and anywhere I can find them, this one included, But, maybe.. because you
added in the Subject: attention also LEABO FOLKS..They may see and respond>>
>> Good thinking on your part. Thanks!
I have tried to contact Gary Hatcher, but I don't think he has the same
e-mail address anymore & don't know how to reach him.
Also, Think I will concentrate also on, William McCubbins and his wife Nancy
Bilyeu who are buried at: Logan OR.
William was James McCubbins Brother. I will try harder there for
descendants. Thanks Nancy
