Hi Terry,

You may have already seen this on ancestry.com, but I wanted to share some
more information,
with you.
The Newsome family, live about 8 miles out of Silverton, Marion Co., OR. at:
Howell Prairie.OR.
Since they did live there, I believe they are part of same Newsome family
that owned & operated the Newsome Sawmill. I found this out, as I was
researching my own families at: Silverton/Howell Prairie, OR. They lived
next door to the Newsomes. My families who lived next to the Newsomes were: 
(1) Hanson and Lavina {Wickard} Stevens, who came to Oregon in 1852. from
Keokuck, Iowa,  
(2) James McCubbins, also came in 1852, to Howell Prairie, Or.

So please check out the Newsome family and the sawmill, I have done a lot of
research on my families there, Just can't find where my g-g-g-grandfather:
James McCubbins is buried, ha ha.. darn!
