Tom;
Phoebe needs to check her inbox before she fires these things off, of course
I would NEVER make "that" mistake. I am the one
who passed the link to Ensley on to her last night after Barbara sent it to
me, mostly because as I noted later to the list I was tickled to find a
genuine celebrety in the family and so close (3rd cousin) at that. It is
just a shame our family and his drifted apart as I am sure from what Susan
had to say about him that he and his siblings were probably interesting
folks.
About all I really know about them is what my Aunt-grandmother-in-law told
me and that was kind of interesting;
"Grandpa (Milan Morell 1st) Melvin went north to San Juan to help Timothy
and Abbey Lockwood take care of Great Grandma Pitt. Abbey was Milan's
sister and she was a water doctor. Eva Lockwood (Tim and Abbey's daughter)
married a Llewellyn and their son's name was Guy. Abby was Milan's (1st?)
sister and she was a water doctor.
Uncle Tim and Aunt Abbey had a homestead on Butler Creek and there was an
orchard we called Uncle Tim's orchard. He built a cabin and when the
Melvins moved down from North Fork they added on to it. This was near where
the redwood tree now stands. Uncle Clarence sent the redwood tree which was
to be planted elsewhere but rooted itself through the bucket before they got
around to planting it. The orchard was on the other side of the creek."
The redwood tree still stands there. It is nice to know Phoebe's memory
isn't infalliable, she has had a copy of the document this came from for
several years, of course it doesn't mention Ensley as Auntie never knew him.
Anyway I will have to fire off an amended family report as soon as I can get
all the info in it that I want. Thanks for passing this on Tom Phoebe and I
are first cousins. Her sister is in the Olympia area now with a daughter,
son and two granddaughters and one or more great greats. There have been
some of them in the area now for near fifty years and never knew we had
other kin up there as far as I know.

Hi List,
This just showed up on the other list and thought someone on this list might
also be interested.
Tom from near sunny Seattle
Dear List,
I was most grateful for the help I got from this list regarding my ancestor:
LISA (WISNER) MELVIN PITT. Her death certificate was signed by her
grandaughter, Eva Llewellyn.
I have recently learned about one ENSLEY MAXWELL LLEWELLYN, Brig. General,
deceased, and associated with the military newspaper, STARS AND STRIPES
during
WWII.
I understand that he had an advertising agency after the war and also was
very involved with the National Guard.
Would like to hear from any folks who may be able to help me to find out how
and if he was related to EVA (LOCKWOOD) LLEWELLYN. EVA was the daughter of
BEULAH (MELVIN) AND TIMOTHY LOCKWOOD. These families migrated from NY, MI,
IO,
OR and then on to WA.
Thank you,
Phoebe in CA
