I have been a member of this list for many years, and have been monitoring
it, looking for genealogical relations, and generally enjoying the overall
cameraderie of the list. I have heard it said that if we cannot have a
sense of humor, and share it with others, we may as well be dead, and then
our life would be open to genealogical discussions.

In respect to my family ties to Oregon, I know that my forbearers commuted
to Oregon several times by wagon train in the 1850's through 1870's, but
never able to track their routes. The first Jackson I know of that I could
find in Oregon was John Jackson, who migrated to Washington state, from
Johnson County, Kansas, and then on to Ashland, Oregon (Jackson County), in
the 1880's. Most of the Jackson family (all girsl, remained in Washington),
but one, Cristina Jackson, married John Wolford of Siskiyou county,
California. John Jackson was born in Vermilion County, Illinois in the
1830's, and married Sarah Honn in Johnson County, Kansas, where they lived
for many years before migrating west.

All I can think of for now.

Ken
