Unfortunately I do not know anything about the family of John Hamlin.  1870 Census Myrtle Creek Precinct, Douglas County, Oregon lists his age at last birthday as 50 when the census was enumerated on 29 June 1870.  It lists place of birth as New York.  His occupation is listed as "miller".  Estate of John L. Hamlin filed in Polk County, Oregon provides the date of death as 8 Dec 1878.

He was living in Myrtle Creek in 1866 when he signed the marriage license application for his daughter in Coos County giving permission for her to marry Stephen Steward.

He was married first to Mary Jane Bunn in Peoria, Illinois 3 July 1848, divorced from her in Douglas County, Oregon in May 1868.  He was married second to Mary (Conner) Allen in Douglas County, Oregon 14 Oct 1871.

That's about the extent of the information I have on John Hamlin and his family.
