[or-roots] Problems with names

FWIW: My maternal grandmother's brother, Earnest Andeson, was not given a middle name at birth. So when somebody insisted that he had to have at least a middle initial (probably Social Security), he said, "F." "F" as in Fern; his wife. (I still don't know her maiden name.) If they ever had any children it could have been Clarence Anderson; Fern often called me by that name, but would correct herself.

Earnie and Fern are long gone. So this is a brick wall. :-(

(a recap) My maternal grandfather, Cecil Clark Rulaford's father was born Edgar McMullin (or some variation of that spelling). He became George A. Rulaford, and married my gr grandmother, Martha Jane Ford in 1880. All of the Rulafords are gone now, and we may never know the truth. (see my web page menu in my footer)

Why do we encounter these brick walls? We may never know.

Good hunting,
Cecil
