[or-roots] Problems with names (They also change with time.)

I've discovered that surnames change with time and location.  e.g. My Mother 's maiden name was DYE, however going back the name appears to have DUYTS in the 1500s, Then Day, then Dee, then Dye by the 1800s.  Dialects, Verbale changes  (remember that early on few people could read or write and Names were passd on Verbally.  Also there was little Written down.
