This is good, I will have to print it out and read it. My Great Grandfathers ranch was in the Diamond Area, it was named for the brand he and his partner had. Did you see the article or Oregon Geographic names a couple of months ago in the Oregonian, it prompted me to look up what the 6th edition said about the Diamond area then I emailed the reporter and he sent it on to the Author so the 8th edition will have an update on the Diamond Area and also Fort Harney. ( My Gr. Grandfathers Sawmill provided the Lumber for the Fort)

        I love history!!  The Riddle Brothers sold this same ranch to Peter French. These Riddles, are my brother-in-law's Family.
        I have done much research on them. They did sell to Peter French.. then eventually when there ways. Some settled at Dayton, WA. and the others went to settle in the Umpqua Valley / Riddle / Canyonville / Myrtle Creek, Oregon.. basically Southern Oregon.
