[or-roots] Spam

Cecil,

FYI - one of the SPAM/Virus ploys is "returned/rejected" mail. We have 4
accounts that have **NEVER** sent mail to anyone. One we got for son's
girlfriend, but she has not used it. Those accounts have had mail returned
to them as well as the accounts actively used by me and my husband but
funny thing .... I never sent the attachments being returned.

I do recommend that folks use a virus program, McAfee/Nortons - I'm sure
there are others, the $$ are well worth the peace provided when the virus
program identifies a bad message, and I get to delete the attachment.

I also will write to someone that sent me an attachment that I was not
expecting to ask about what the attachment is.

As Hill Street Blues always said, be careful out there.

Chris

Hi listers:

SNIP

Some of you may have received spam mail that "seems" to have come from my
@cox.net or @yahoo.com addresses. Those are from a virus that reads the
address book of people who I have been in contact with me. (Sorry about
that.) I quite frequently receive rejected e-mail sent "by me" to people I
don't know.

I own no stock in McAfee, but... I use SpamKiller. There are feebees out
there. Use them!!
