Now would be a good time to revisit Aunt Charlottes book "Into The Eye of The Setting Sun".

1843 was the year the "great emegration" began to Oregon. Charlotte Matheny Kirkwood was one of those who traveled by wagon across the Oregon Trail to the Wilamette Valley. Others in that wagon train included my gr gr grandfather, Nineveh Ford, and his younger brother, Ephraim Ford. In the book Charlotte suggests that Ephraim "took a likin' to her".

Although Walt and I are related, it is not through a union of Charlotte and Ephriam.

Turn on your speakers and go to:

to read the introduction to the book. If you're using IE 6.0 the music will not stop until you turn it off (tool bar near the top of the page).
