First a couple of questions; How locked into this born in Nebraska thing are
you for George W? and you say you think your gram was next to youngest, if
you analyze that; great gram born 1871 produces probable earliest marriage
date = 1871 + 16 = 1887, okay never mind I addet that up to 1897 about three
times in my head and that would have made fifth child 1904 real hard on
mama. Back to one question; I find no George Washington in 1900 or 1920
Oregon Census born in Nebraska with Norwegeian wife.

Do you have a birthplace for your Gram, if I had that I could do a better
job of trying to find them in Census, there are fifty Miller heads of
household in Umatilla Co Oregon in 1920 Census, Georg W has Kansas bon wife
and one child.

Miller, Bertha Jerina
vol 41 no 19 - 16 Dec 1948
Born 28 Feb 1871 in Norway. Came to US at age 13. Died
12 Dec 1948 at Ordnance. Survived by spouse, George
Miller of Lincoln, NE and seven children.
Internment: Hermiston Cemetery

Are any of you kind folks, esp. those close to
Hermiston, able to do a check on her for me? Any
further information would be helpful. My grandmother,
Hazel June <Miller> Cornell, (b. 1/18/1905) was the
only daughter of the aforementioned 7 children, and I
believe the second youngest. Her husband, my
gr-grandfather's, full name was George Washington
Miller. No clue on any dates for him yet. I only have
as much as I do from my starting point of the SS-5
from the SSDI for my grandmother.

I believe a lot of that family is still in Oregon, but
due to one of those unfortunate family fueds, I am
stonewalled from any further info from my current
family.

Hav tried a lot of the freebie stuff on Ancestry and
Rootsweb, but nothing seems to match. I'm still
learning on how best to do this so any suggestions are
welcome. Heck, maybe even some of you are cousins!
