Wagon tracks are visible in several locations in the Mt. Hood/Government Camp area. An easy spot to find is just a couple of miles on the 'Portland side' of Gov't. Camp. There's a pull out with a marker (the pull out affords a beautiful view of the mountain). A very short walk (a bit uphill) brings you to one of the well documented wagon shutes used to lower wagons down Laurel Hill.
Summit Meadows is just on the east side of Government Camp. This was used as a resting place before the trip down Laurel Hill. There are several graves (though only once is marked as a pioneer grave - Baby Morgan) and evidence of a timbered road.
Another spot is 6+ miles east of Government Camp on the Hwy 35 route towards Hood River. This area has been preserved, is well marked and has good posted information. There's a stretch of the trail to walk...it's quiet and easy to place yourself in a long ago time.
I know there are more places, but these are all close together and easy to find.
