David:
Would this same railroad have traveled from Huntsville, Arkansas? I was
told at one time that the Union Pacific offered low rates for families
moving to Oregon in order to settle there. I don't know if the store is
true. I just know that my relatives came from Huntsville and settled in
Summerville, Oregon.

Oregon Railroad and Navigation Company. They originally did boat
business on Columbia and Snake Rivers, starting out of
Portland Oregon in 1850s and the railroad linking Portland to
Ogden Utah was in 1887 or thereabout.
