Funny, for some reason I never noticed you live in Monmouth.

As to the photo; had a little trouble reading the image as it is a bit low
res, is the date 1938 or 1958?

In the 1920 Oregon census there are 28 John Hill listings as head of
household. Looked at the two John W.'s and spot checked the rest, but no
joy, assuming one or more of the kids in picture would be his?? Interesting
to try and speculate on how that family group goes together, I think Mrs. B.
Hill (probably older lady on right is Grandma, and I pick Dee Dee and John
W. as couple next to her being her son and daughter in law, but how does
James Hill Deardorff fit in? He must be a cousin.

ONe side note of the 28 John Hill's, ten list birth place as Finland.

Best of luck with this, I often see photos like this I wish I could track
down the family of. I posted a notice of some names here a few months back
and no response. I imagine the photo album is long gone from the antique
shop by now so it will be real sad if I hear from some one who really wants
it. The store owner said that the person who inherited the photos hated the
old lady who was prominent in the photos and had no wish to keep her around.
How sad.

Walt; how long have you or your family been in Monmouth? My mother and her
sisters went to school there in the 1920's and I think Aunt Kris was back in
the late thirties or so. I have fifteen or twenty letters to home from
there, is there someone in town, museum or whatever, that would like copies
of those letters.
