Connie;
I have some Census info I have downloaded that includes some Dumont,
Rainville and I believe Tiller Surnames from 1860 - 1880. Also in the course
of researching my neice's ancestry I discovered that her something or other
great Grandma was once married to a Rondeau, I will include what I for them
at bottom.
I worked with some Rainvilles when I worked at Tiller. I think some of the
descendants of one or two other lines besides Rondeau that are in that
cemetery are still around too. I can summarize the family info for those
surnames and send it or you could send me a list of names you are looking
for if you were interested in their census info.
A lot of those folks were wary of being in the census in the early years as
official attention led to a one way trip to Siletz so Census info is
inconclusive. A couple of my neices buttonhole kin are also on the list and
some of them know more on the subject than I do, hopefully they will
respond.
In your other note you mention Bland Mtn. Cemetery, I am not familiar with
that unless it is the one referred to as the Lavadour Cemetery in here a
while back. It doesn't sound like it would be the same one. I know I picked
plums right at the junction of the two rives one year when I lived there and
didn't notice it.
If you want I can try and find Census info for surnames in that Cemetery
too.
You might want to contact the Douglas County Gen Soc, they should have a lot
of those folks. I know I intend to spend some time with their info when I
get a chance.

Subject: [or-roots] Cow Creek Umpqua (Rondeau Cemetery)
My site photographer, Julie Hendricks of Tiller, recently sent me
picutres of the Rondeau Indian Cemetery in Douglas County. She told me
the cemetery was originally called Glasco Cemetery. Apparently the
Glasco family sold to the Rondeau family. A family by the name of Gibson
currently owns the surrounding property, but the cemetery now belongs to
the county. Does anyone have information about the following families
buried at Rondeau Cemetery: Dumont, LaChance, Pariseau, Rainville,
Rondeau, Thomason.
Descendants of George Rondeau
Generation No. 1
1. GEORGE n1 RONDEAU
Child of GEORGE RONDEAU is:
2. i. MARCELLUS n2 RONDEAU, b. 02 May 1867, Gervais, Marion Co., Oregon.
Generation No. 2
2. MARCELLUS2 RONDEAU (GEORGE1)2 was born 02 May 1867 in Gervais, Marion
Co., Oregon n3,4. He married SUSAN EMALINE MCGINNIS n5,6 16 April 1890 in
Douglas Co., Oregon n7, daughter of JOHN MCGINNIS and ANGELIQUE LAVADOUR.
She was born 16 September 1872 in Galesville, Douglas Co., Oregon n8, and
died 06 February 1938 in Roseburg, Douglas Co., Oregon n9.
Notes for SUSAN EMALINE MCGINNIS:
I have added two and two to get five when figuring her age, as with many
folks in this line (sorry mine niece. your family can't count fer . . .
beans) her age is all over the map, I have an official document for her
daughter Addie (not Adeline as you would expect) that gives her birth year
as 1882. I think either at some point Susan decided to become ten years
younger, whoever gave the information for the delayed birth certificate was
guessing or it is simply a typo. Les C. 2004
Marriage Notes for MARCELLUS RONDEAU and SUSAN MCGINNIS:
By and in the house of Thomas Wilson, J.P. G.B. Rondeau and Lita Wilson
