good morning: unfortunately, you are correct, in my estimation. these
online services rely on the people submitting them to do the research.
sadly, most of them are what i call "copiers" and their data is only as good
as who they copied it from. that is the main reason i do all my own
research and have NEVER taken a thing from the internet. i did take
numerous names on my royal lines from people on the roots royal board. it
took me 4 years and a few trips to england to check on all the data. i
found one line on peter browne of the mayflower that was not even close to
being correct. there is also a man who makes up family genealogies and that
didn't help either. thanks for your note. i go to hospital tomorrow
morning for angioplasty and will probably be offline for a few days. thanks
for your comments. they are much appreciated.

It's no different from WorldConnect, Ancestry Tree, FTM etc. 10 percent
copied from other databases. FTM in my view is the worst of all.

i think i was talking about the IGI when it was the ancestral file that was
so unbelieveable. the IGI, if i remember correctly, was work done by
church
members and the anc. file was just added to as people sent in their files.
it was the anc. file where i found one set of my gr gr gr gr. parents who
the anc. file showed with something like 22 children and the dau. that i
desc. from was entered 4 or 5 times and each time with info that was just a
little bit different. hopefully they sacked the anc. file. it didn't take
a rocket scientist to know that it was garbage.
