Dear Judy, Steve and Ronda

You have recently posted messages on the or-roots list with dates of 
Ruddell family members.  I'm particularly interested in the source of 
the birth date given for Keziah C Smith "(b. January 13, 1811 
Illinois)", wife of Stephen Duley Ruddell, making her five years 
older than her husband.  I understand from others who have published 
this date that they have taken it from the 1992 Ruddell-Himes reunion 
brochure, but I haven't been able to ascertain the source that the 
brochure drew on.

Her son William Hendry Ruddell, in the 1900 census, gives her place 
of birth as TN, which seems more likely, given that the Smith 
families living adjacent to the Ruddells in the 1840 census hailed 
from NC/TN.

I'd be grateful for any further light that you can shed on this.
