Carole;
A while back I think I posted some links on Oregon Railroad history, but
can't swear to it, may have just been looking for a factoid I posted. I be
too sick to want to chase it down for you now, but I know there is a lot of
stuff online about the subject, not just SP but precursors etc. Also you
might want to look up address for Southern Pacific Historical society or
some such. I know you can probably find a link to it through
Modelrailroader.com.
We train nuts have all sorts of historical stuff on our favorite railroads
and if you send a copy of that photo to Model Railroader one of them will
probably be able to tell you who is in the photo and what day of the month
the photo was taken and where and all sorts of other details, and if they
can't tell you they'll probably make something up.

Subject: [or-roots] Early Oregon Railroad
Greetings
Does anyone have any contacts for Early 1900 Oregon
RR? I have some photos of early steam shovels laying
track for the S&P. My Grandmother's Stepfather Earl
Hanson ran a crew and shovel that laid track from
about 1916-1930. The only other identified individual
in the photos is Clark Radford. I can attach a photo
(s) (if that is okay) or willing to send to interested
individuals.
