Well, that may be, but Douglas county still had most of thier delayed birth
certificate info last time I was at courthouse about a year ago. Current
County recorder very cooperative with people interested in Genealogy
research, also as they have aggressively filmed things, it was suggested
that at some point they might make originals available to relatives on a
first come first served basis. The joy of going there for me is being able
to actually handle original documents filed by my great grandparents.
Considering I didn't even know my grandparents that is quite a charge for
me.

certs are no long kept at county anymore, not since 1989. All counties
were ordered to turn over copies of birth certs and records to State
Health Office. Baker County used to have them up to 1929 available to
public in the County Library but all had been transferred to Portland.
