Just want to point out that I used the delete key before I started
writing ...
I find this very fascinating -- it seems the more we know, the more we
are all connected, sometimes in odd little ways, but it really is all
part of the same story, even if it doesn't show up on the relationship
charts.
Bob and Barbara's great-great aunt, Pearl, was a live-in nurse for my
ailing great grandmother, Mary Rose, in Ashland in 1920. Unfortunately,
neither I nor my cousin have any information about Pearl, let alone
Clarington. Just another reminder to listen to all of the stories of the
'old ones' and write down and catalogue *everything* you possibly can.
My mother was born in 1919, and although an infant, possibly was held at
one time by Pearl -- Mary's house was a gathering point for the family.
This dwelling (77 Sixth St) is a fully restored 'historical home' in
Ashland, as well as the mirror image house next door; neither are under
family ownership.
Wishing I could be of more help,
Bill Strickland
