Dear Les,
Please excuse my ignorance.  What is a land patent?  I am not new to
genealogy, but might as well be, as I don't have a lot of time to spend
doing research.  So, if I ask addlepated questions, it is because I
genuinely don't know, and am trying to learn.
Thank you for being so patient.  I mostly lurk, but occasionally, I will ask
