Hi Bob and List,

Here is a list from Google:

The Beaver as a Mascot

Colleges and Universities across the United States have chosen to declare themselves “Beavers.” Many underestimate the power and fierceness that the beaver really has. For many school the reason why they call themselves the beavers is because the beaver is defined as a hard worker. The beaver is a unique and smart animal “Because they are so much like us. The way they work until the drop, like us. They commune together in small homes pieced together, like us. They work both day night for long shifts, like us. They get pushed around by large corporations and developers, like us.” (<http://www.tattletail.org/pages/whybeaver.html>www.tattletail.org/pages/whybeaver.html) Oregon State University is documented as being the first to have the Beaver as a mascot established in 1910.
Many college and University’s all over the country have adopted the beaver as their mascot such as the following Colleges and University’s:

<http://www.bvu.edu/>Buena Vista University (Storm Lake, Iowa)
[]

<http://www.caltech.edu/>California Institute of Technology (Pasadena, California)
<http://www.champlain.edu/>Champlain College (Burlington, Vermont)
[]
<http://www.ccny.cuny.edu/>City College of New York-City University of New York (New York, New York)
<http://www.minotstateu.edu/>Minot State University (Minot, North Dakota)
<http://www.orst.edu/>Oregon State University (Corvallis, Oregon)
<http://www.umf.maine.edu/>University of Maine-Farmington (Farmington, Maine)
The beaver has been looked down upon because it’s lack off fierceness but hopefully over the years more upcoming Colleges and University’s will adopt the beaver as their mascot.

Also Centre d'Apprentissage du HAUT-MADAWASKS, Nouveay, Brunswick

I found at least four that answer you question.
