Heck fire Melinda, Linda; I haven't even gotten stuff from april '04 on out
of my "Oregon List" folder in outlook, but won't bother to post your request
since two other folks already did.
In case anyone missed it, YES THERE IS AND ARCHIVE;
http://sosinet.sos.state.or.us/pipermail/or-roots/
I believe you can usually connect to info there with google, I know I have
gone searching for stuff in google after posting a query here and came up
with my own query as the only hit for the subject before.
As to the bibles, I am embarrassed to say I can't locate the postings I made
without more trouble than grabbing the bibles and retranscribing some stuff;
ONe is fairly recent stuff, found abandoned in a house near Loone Lake, here
in Douglas County, Oregon and is mostly Leise and Miller; with places from
Alaska to Colorado, the bible belonged to Jeanette Leise, but oddly enough
most of the genealogy in it is her husband Alfred Miller's, including his
grandparents Zora and Jack Miller.
The Other one is mostly from Des Moines, Iowa and I have no idea how it
ended up in a thrift shop in Reedsport, Oregon;
the surnames are Moore, Barnes, Yale, Hunter and some miscellaneous
individuals. Six marriages, 15 births, with dates ranging from about 1864 to
1930, some of the given names are quite unusual; Janetta, Zenas (sp?) and
Verva.
If anyone thinks any of these surnames are of interest let me know, I will
be glad to send you details off list, I don't really want to post too much
for all the world to see.

Subject: [or-roots] Is there an Or-Roots archive?
Does anyone have an archive of Or-Roots postings -- who could look up a
posting I made on 12/5/04 - Subject: Milliorn Cemetery - an historic
cemetery?
