I don't remember any such story but you could write to Gerry Frank, Salem,  
Oregon.  IF anyone would know, he would.  He is the son of the Frank  of Meier 
and Frank and Meier was his uncle.  Gerry Frank played a very big  role in the 
store after he graduated from high school.  In fact, he opened  and ran the 
Salem Meier and Frank.
