Barb, that is a great explanation of the difference between showers and light rain.  I notice that you describe dealing with the rain not staying inside until it goes away.  My raised in the Willamette Valley but living in southern California daughter is constantly amazed at the fact that a lot of people there will not even go to the store if it is raining.  We'd starve here with that kind of thinking.
