Carroll - Was you family tied in with the Reeds? There is a story, I believe
it can be googled, about one of the Reed girls who went to the Umpqua
Academy. Let's see, here it is:

ultimately married an Applegate. The article says she married Charles
Applegate, but her husband was Thomas. Perhaps "Charles Thomas", but I think
the WPA oral history person got it wrong.
