Thank you Marilyn in Bellingham, WA. I certainly had CLARKs & MICHAELs in Linn Co. OR who m. into other Families, but I do not recognize the Marks, Clarks, you mention from MO unless some of mine migrated to MO that I don;t know of.
I'd be interested in knowing where in OR 1853, etc. (or in Lynn Co.) they settled as that might help.
'Tis interesting that Clarks m. Clarks early on. I know that there is a Joseph Clark Line that intermarried. I've heard that 5 diff. Clark Lines intermarried with my/our Clark Lines. Perhaps this is why I get a bit Whacky at times!
I have Tuttles, Lathrop/Lothrop/Lothropps galore/ Gibsons/ all from the 1630s America; Atkinsons, Damon, Scott,
Swift, and many many others. I know the LEAST about my SCOTT clan which was my Mother's ancestors.
My wife has CARMAN ancestry Eng>MA in 1631 who settled in New Amsterdam or NY area, and were
Founders of Hempstead, Long Island, NY after trading with Indians for Land. That Carman Genealogy is a fabulous Line and is easily accessed by entering John Carman or John Carman Genealogy in a browser which will take you to a vast
amount of Carman Genealogy, and Allied Families with whom they associated and intermarried with.

I'm putting all this on here from my Noggin (head) in case there are Others out there who might be inquisitive.

Best regards,
Carroll

P.S. I am partial to the name Marilyn, as I had a very dear girl friend when we were both age 11 & 12 -she'd moved from Bellingham to Snohomish -lived here only 2 yrs - but she moved to Bellingham again with her Family.
Both of us became teachers, and both of us keep in contact despite about 70 yrs. What a great Family that was!

                                                                        ><><><>30<><><><

I have a Clark connection in early Oregon. Elizabeth Marks, b. 1842 in Missouri, the sister of my G-grandfather James P. Marks, married William S. Clark Jan. 10, 1861 in Linn County, OR. William S. Clark was born about 1838 in Missouri.

The Marks family arrived in Oregon in 1853.

Any connection to the Clarks being discussed lately?

  Marilyn S.
  Bellingham, WA
