Hi Albert -merci beaucoup pour la message - I went to the Snohomish Library ( our New $8 Meg. Library) but the 
History of Oregon book by Bancroft was not available at this time. I ordered it, but the system is so slow that it might be weeks or months before I will hear from it.  The age of computers has done this to us !
  If any of you can get hold of :  History of Oregon by Hubert Howe BANCROFT 1832 - 1918

 There were pages of Early Comers and Late Comers over the Oregon Trail.
The copy that I discovered happened to have my Grt Grt GF Jason S. Clark in it and also a few pages later
that of my Grt Grt GM Anna Michaels Clark who m. Jason at age 16 and had a flock of kids, but only 7 were mentioned 
in Bancroft's book - not naming them, but just the number of children as several were born in Oregon after they arrived 
there from Indiana 1847 .
Bancroft stated that there were 5,000 persons who made the trek in 1847, and he named many, but not all 5000 of them, of course. 
 I hope this might be of some help if that volume could be found for ref.

  The next time you check out that Oregon Trail book, if you think of it, please note if there are any 1851 O. T. pioneers.  I have collected and documented some 4,500 names from that year, as part of my 600,000 word project that is finally off to a publisher... but I have a brief window to add other names.
