Bob;
Have you read "Footsteps On The Umpqua" by Jerry Winterbotham? You may
find this listed under A.G.M Markers for author, but that is a joke on
Jerry's part meaning "A Great Many Markers" which I think is kind of his way
of giving credit to all the "Old Timers" that he interviewed in the course
of compiling the book.
Anyway he devotes a chapter to the location of ferry crossings and bridges
and dams kind of jumbled together, listing them by river mile and also some
anecdotal stuff; the list runs from page 157 to 164.
He doesn't liste either a Winchester ferry or one run by a Clark, but
altogether he lists ten ferry sites on the Norht Umpqua.

when Jason Clark would have moved from Harrisburg to operate the Winchester
Ferry across the North Umpqua? I am collecting historical data on the ferry
operation. Bob Casebeer
