Dear Joan,
My husband's mother was a Hite. I don't know if you are any relation or not. It was a huge family. Her name was Margaret Alice Hite and her parents were William and Mary Ada (Westfall) HIte from Malheur County Oregon. We have information further back on them as well if you are interested.
Good luck on your research!
Anne

I have seen the two volumes for Oregon at a used bookstore in North Bend Oregon, but it was last year did not have the money to buy them at that time, also if anyone is interested the Centennial history of Oregon 1811-1911 4 vol. the Lafayette School House antique Mall has a set $400.00 to much for me I did buy Vol. 1 History of Oregon Biographical which has a lot of history, Volumes two and three are biography's and I would Like to find them.
