Subject: [or-roots] Sons & Daughters of Oregon Pioneers

  For the "Newbies"
  Since the subject came up:

If you can provide some type of proof that your ancestor was living in Oregon BEFORE the date of statehood (14 Feb 1859) you are eligible to join SDOP. Proof can be almost any historical document. Most people use the Donation Land Claim number for their ancestor. When I started I contacted the Genealogical Forum in Portland, OR/ But there seem to be copies floating around other libraries, etc. Application forms can be obtained from the organization.

Check out the websites They were helpful to us older members when we were searching.

  Stephanie Flora's "Oregon Pioneers"

Just type "Sons & Daughters of Oregon Pioneers" in the search line and it will bring up several different sites.
