I have more detailed information, but am looking for Thomas Benton Clark
ancestors or some indication why he was the only one of his family to move
to Oregon

I did find the right family tree, but who knows how correct it is at
ancestry.com, but it's a start. I found his father & more ancestors going
back in his line. But, Suzanne is also trying to find out why Thomas Benton
Clark was the only one in the family to move to Oregon?

Hi Nancy and everyone,
I sent Suzanne three family trees from Ancestry off list.  I found several
Thomas Benton Clarks (see list below), but no one with the right wife had
any ancestors of Thomas.
 
Does anyone have thoughts on Suzanne's original question, or how to find the
why's of our ancestors?

I found this at ancestry.com his Father was:

Ephraim M. Clark, 
Born: Feb. 8 1822.    Lexington, Layfayette,  MO. 
Died: Aug. 13, 1914  Orrick, Ray, MO.
 
Mother:
Juliette Julia Harris
Born: 1834
Died: 1920 
 
There is more information there with names & dates if are interested & don't
have yet?

I am new to this list and would appreciate any help I can get.
I am working on the following:
Thomas Benton Clark m. Matilda Forrest in Dayton, Yamhill, Oregon 1876 or
1878.
Their son Riley Lester Clark m. Stella Irene Sims in Portland, Multnomah,
Oregon March 19, 1916.
Riley and Stella were my maternal grandparents.
 
I have more detailed information, but am looking for Thomas Benton Clark
ancestors or some indication why he was the only one of his family to move
to Oregon.
