< < USGS has a link to a Pleasant View cemetery at the right number of
miles south of Sherwood (I think,) but it is about twenty miles east
there of??? ...confusing Damascus, which is very close to the Pleasant
View I just mentioned with Dammasch Hospital >>
This is the other Pleasant View Cemetery which I mentioned was in
Clackamas County -- near Carver -- it is not the one with the Shaver
burials. Probably/possibly inside the new City of Damacus city limits.
< < is the cemetery I mention off of Tooze road what Gary is looking
for or what?> >
Yes.
< < man they really weirded out when they stuck that area in Clackamas
county, it is a tongue of land about five miles wide sticking six mile
west between Washington and Yamhill and Marion counties??? > >
Actually, when you look at the 'big' picture, Clackamas and Yamhill are
both sort of sticking there tounges out at each other, keeping Marion
and Washington apart. Of course, talking about the Big Picture, recall
that at one time Clackamas County was like everything north of the 45th
parallel -- I mean everything, Washington (state), Canada, Alaska -- now
we are stuck with sort of what nobody else wanted, and that would seem
to include most of the Wilsonville area.
<< the 110th St stretche takes you right by Dammasch state Hospital. > >
Now I haven't been by there lately, but the State Hospital may no longer
exist there -- I mean the physical structure, it hasn't been a State
Hospital for a number of years. The field across the street was where
the school busses were buried on their noses, but I've heard that the
guy has been removing them -- there's a lot of contention about
developing the area.
But, yes, those are the correct driving directions from I-5 at
Wilsonville. Of course, there must be about two dozen ways to get there
depending on where you start from -- Sherwood, Newberg, Aurora,
Wilsonville, Beaverton, Tigard, etc -- from Sherwood, I would leave town
eastbound on Sunset, which then turns south and becomes Baker, crossing
Tooze then right on Westfall.
< < that name mean anything to anyone on the list? ;-} > >
It should -- it's named after them.
Now that the pot is all stirred up, maybe we need to let it settle a bit
so we can see the map at the bottom of the muddle.
