[or-roots] Portland Or Salem?

I have a general question for all:

My gr-daughter has friday off school and I want to spend the day doing
genealogy with her.  She has already helped me, so this is something she
will be familiar with.

If you had a choice of where to go to find the best information on Yamhill
County / Oregon, would you go to the Oregon Historical Society in Portland,
or to the Salem archives?

The distance is about the same either way.
