Have to admit, that was sorta cute, but never the less, a very good suggestion.

You could take pictures of Veteran's graves and submit the results to someone like FindaGrave.com -- potentially helping others is a part of genealogy, too (especially if the sun is out  ;-)  and the librarys are closed).
