My aunt, her son and I were there and I believe it
was in mid to late summer.  I recall that we ran
to get away from the flames.

The city of Bandon was origianlly called Averill after my gggrandfather William Henry Harrison Averill.  He and his partner George M. Dyer laid out the city of Averill in 1886 which became incorporated as Bandon in 1891.

  I am having difficulty in finding the  exact day and month in 1936 that  the city of Bandon was destroyed by fire.    There are lots of information on the internet on the fire - but thay all use  just  1936  Bandon fire.  Anyone know at least the time of year
