To those that suggested hanging these painting on a wall I was not clear in my original email. If these paintings were not done by my grandfather and or of other family members I would not keep them.
My wife and I have moved into our retirement home and well to be honest these painting do not fit.
It is like other items I have inherited that are of no value except that they belonged to my parents, grandparents and other relatives. I have wrap then in cloth and place them storage containers and they are in a storage room that has a humidify going to control the temperature and moisture.
As for paper documents I have made digital copies and sent these copies to my children for save keeping and also placed a portable hard drive with everything on it at my local bank safe deposit box.
I will contact the Portland Art Museum and the Oregon Historical Society for their input.
I have always said if someone has a question or needs help this is the best group to turn to for advice.
Thanks,
Eugene
