Thanks for the web site.  Pioneers listed for the year 1872 include H. (Henry) Schaeffer and L. (Logan) Schaeffer who were sons of my gg grand parents Samuel Schaeffer and Harriet Emerick Schaeffer.

I believe Henry's first time in the Wallowa country was in 1871.  His marriage to Viola Powers in 1873 was the first in Wallowa.

Thanks again, its always good to find out more about ancestors.

        I do not know what the other names on the archway are.  I looked in Grace Bartlett's history of the county in the early days and did not see those names at a glance.  I plan to make a trip down there and will see what I can dig up when I go.
