Seeking info of Rachel Dixon (Dickson) b 15 May 1821 in NC or SC who m
George V Miller. She d 15 Mar 1886 in Drake, Gasconade Co, MO.

I hammered at google for a while, but came up dry and Heritage Quest just
locked me out so I guess that's bet I can do. There are a lot of Rachel
Dixon's listed in North Carolina from mid 18th century up to about 1810, but
couldn't find anyone with a dau Rachel b. near 1820.

Now I have a Dixon connected puzzler; I was going to ask for a look-up in
1850 census to see if proximity proved anything, but birthplace of one of
the principles answered that. What I have is Thomas Manley Ramsdell ma
Lorilla b 1829 Newcastle, Va [or Laurilla, or Sorilla] in Or in 1847 and no
clues to her parents, but their dau Mary Elizabeth ma Cyrus Dixon and their
son Cyrus F. Dixon ma Laura Banks Caldwell dau of Gerald [Girard?] Banks
Caldwell and Martha Williamson. And guess where Gerald [Girard] is born?
Newcastle, Va, 1827. There is one head of household in Josephine County in
1860 from NH who is old enough to be their Da, but Gerald list Va all the
way across for birth places. And Lorrilla is no help, in 1880 she is found
in houshold indexed by LDS as JM Ramsdell and she is LJ listing birthplaces
as Missouri all the way across, even though she is listed as Va in 1860 and
1870 Censuses.

If someone had their parentage proof stashed away easy to get I would love
to have it, but it really doesn't mean enough to me to ask for a lot of help
and I have pretty well exhausted 1860 to 1920 Census info I could possibly
want on this line.

I just love to make these little cross conncections, now I have to get back
to seeing how many times I can cross connect the Sawyer and Stewarts.

If any of you who are researching the Dixon family ever run across the
following Rachel Dixon, I would be extremely grateful if you would let me
know. We (parents and I) have been looking for her for decades.

Rachel Dixon was born May 15, 1821 in North Carolina. She died March 15
1885 in Drake Missouri. She married George V. Miller about 1840. He was
born November 10, 1801 probably in Ashe county North Carolina, and died July
23, 1881 in Missouri. They had 9 children all born in Missouri.

Rachel is my gg grandmother. She is supposedly full blood Mohawk Indian.
Of course this wasn't spoken of in the family until my grandmother's sister
told my aunt when she was over 100 years old. Amazing how society changes.
They were ashamed. My kids and I think it's kind of neat! Anyway, if
someone runs across her, please let me know.
Thanks!
Ronda
