Thanks, Les.   I am a little familiar with Eugene.  So, I can visualize the general area you describe.  And, I do understand Range, TWSP and all that description stuff.  I am on a very slow dial up---but I do have a Eugene city map.  Thanks, anyway, for the offer to send me the maps.  I bet this is the location.  Just hope somehow I can find out more information on David Watkins.  Family stores say he died very poor.  In earlier census in Missouri, he was a wealthy man.  His widow went on and re-married...and  had 2 more children.  She buried all 3 of her husbands and she died in the Pendleton Insane Asylum...with a tough life like that...no wonder.  Diane
