Glen, I think I sent this 1860 census below before? Lots of Pioneers left
from Missouri of course & headed there way to Oregon about this time.
My McCubbins did. James McCubbins was born also in Virginia about 1813 & I
still can not find who his parents were or
his burial in Salem, OR. James & China's daughter Rachael McCubbins had
married a Calvin Dotson in 1851/Franklin Co., MO.
& in 1852 hit the trail to Oregon. Rachael (McCubbins) Dotson died on the
trail & China McCubbins,we don't know what happened to her. She either died
on the trail or died in Missouri before the family took off.
There last child had been born in 1849.I did find my Calvin Dotson's family
in the census records which I believe I did send to you.
The one Karen sent has a Calvin Dotson, but mine was born way before 1860 :

Subject: Re: [or-roots] genealogy information resourses and research
Hello out there -
I am seeking information on the ancestry of Frederick Mortimer Dotson,
born
around 1832 in Virginia or West Virginia. He came to Union, Oregon for a
time,
then continued on to Camp Creek, Oregon where he was residing in 1900
according
to an Oregon Census. He is buried, along with several family members, in
the Eugene
Pioneer Cemetery. Thank you for your assistance.
