Looks Like a lot of people came to Oregon from Iowa, I know that is where My Mother's side of the family moved to Oregon From, Iowa, North and South Dakota.
As to incorrect info that some people post I know I have had the same problem, I have also posted some that later turned out to be incorrect, have also had the problem of conflicking info, I try to put in notes when that happens that there is a conflict of Information, or that the info is not verified.

In my earlier post about Oregon names I mentioned the family of James and Rebecca Jane (Mathew) Smith, who moved to Oregon from Marion Co., IA. James was born in Fountain Co., IN, but he and Jane (as she was called) were married in Marion Co., IA by Henry Bonebrake. From the Marion Co., IA Marriage Register, Vol. 1, pp. 108-109, License No. 427, Marion Co., IA Courthouse, Knoxville, IA:
"427 James Smith to Rebecca Jane Mathew
Date of License: June 30, 1854
Date of Marriage: July 4, 1854
Name of the Person by Whom the Marriage was Solemnized: Henry Bonebrake M.G.
Return of Certificate: August 23, 1854."
Would your think Henry fits into the William F. Bonebrake family somewhere? Also, there were Bonebrakes in Hood River Co. (across the Columbia River from Goldendale, WA) when I was growing up.
Beth
