    You might write to the Railroad Retirement Board and request retirement records for the person you are researching. If you have his railroad or social security number it makes it easier for the records to be located. 

    I received a large packet from the board on my grand-father's service, first in Portland, OR in the early 1900's and then in Ohio until his retirement in 1971. It was very helpful to my genealogical research.

    My son, John Sedey served with the Ore. Ntl. Guard air unit at McNary Field in Salem for about 17/18 years. He died in 1987 just months short of having his 20 years of service.

                Were you ever a member of the Washington Air Guard? I retired from the Oregon ANG and talked with a good friend of mine, Bud Opitz, who retired from the Oregon ANG and we both remembered a Bob Goodman who was with the Washington ANG.
                   My deceased Father in Law retired from the SP&S and I am doing some research hoping to find out more about his employment with the SP&S
