This talk really  brings back memories.  Johnny Ray had a hit song with “The 
Little White  Cloud that Cried” and at the time my brother was recovering from 
a near fatal  bout of Rheumatic Fever.  That was his favorite song so my mom 
bought the  record and he played it over and over and over again until it 
actually wore  out.  Boy was I glad.

Yes,  and his stone in the Hopewell Cemetery is just a very  nondescript 
stone with only his name and dates. I guess the family  probably did that because 
they did not want it vandalized. If you go to the  Polk County Museum in  
Rickreall, they have  quite a lot of information on Johnny Ray and have had a 
couple of good  programs on him as well.
